Volunteering with Gateway

Volunteering at Gateway Food Pantry is a profoundly rewarding experience that allows individuals to make a tangible and positive impact in our community.

Gateway has two full-time staff members and 6 part-time employees to run our food pantry and thrift store. Simply put, we would be unable to fulfill our mission of eliminating food insecurity in our service area without the generosity of our volunteers.

Volunteers have the opportunity to serve in the following positions -

  • Coordinate food distribution for our clients

  • Sorting and organizing donated food items

  • Facilitate food collection and deliver donations to the pantry

  • Assist customers at the thrift store

  • Complete inventory management at the thrift store

What you should know about volunteering at Gateway -

  • Being able to lift 20 lbs. is essential to many jobs at the pantry
